Peshmerga kills and injures 25 ISIL terrorists in Khurmatu villages

26 / 8 / 2014

Clashes broke out between the Peshmerga forces and insurgents belonging to the so called the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in ''Khsdarli'' village in Khurmatu district.

General Kamal Mohammed in a statement to PUKmedia said that ISIL groups started moving in ''Khsdarli'' and bombarded Peshmerga forces with heavy weapons.

The ISIL insurgents attacked the civilians and the Peshmerga forces in the villages of ''Bastamli'' and ''Yasa'', but the Peshmerga repelled the attack strongly and caused them huge losses.

The Peshmerga forces killed 10 terrorists and injured 15 others, and destroyed 2 vehicles last night in ''Yankija'', ''Al Salam'' and ''Albuhassan'' villages.

The military aviation yesterday morning bombarded ISIL hideouts in a number of Khurmatu villages, where the bombardment caused huge damages to ISIL groups.

I had plans to study different aspects of engineering to make nukes, but then I realized you need billions for infrastructure...I gave up the idea about nukes.
Bram, all the respect to you and your goals in life. But building a nuke really isn't just a walk in the park.

Even if you manage to build a nuclear warhead, were would you place it? How would you secure it? Who would have access?

EVEN if you have solved aaaall of those issues look at India, Pakistan, Israel. All owners of primetime nukes, all drawn into shitfaced conflicts.

Having a nuke and using a nuke is two very different things. Could you imagine Kurdistan being attacked and then using nukes on other countries? What would happen to our support world wide?

If Kurdistan were to gain independence I think we need not worry about foreign invasion but rather groups like ISIS. Look at the world today; noone really invades each other anymore its all about proxywars.

Ukraine, ISIS, boko haram and many other rebelconflicts in africa, afghanistan, pakistan, india and so on. I think we would benefit much more from building an army much like the israelis rather then going for the big daddy-bomb.

Intelligence is everything, counter espionage is important and tactical units trained in urban warfare supported by air and armored troops is absolutely critical for our new soon-to-be nation!
I have already planned it all out. Xoybun has a firm purpose. The only thing to do now is ask educated people to join. Our leader ordered us to recruit doctors and engineers.

If 4 brains could figure out how a nuke is built, I'm certain 100 scientists can figure it out too.

Also, they aren't drawn into conflict because of nukes...these are two different subjects.'
In reality, we will only benefit with nukes. These nukes aren't meant to be for the army. It also has another purpose.

Lastly, Kurdistan has never had, will never have, and doesn't have support. It's only business, and Kurdistan should prepare itself for the worst.

Do you know how fast we would gain independence if we had nukes? I guess not :)that's why USA loves to install a new dictator in each country which can pose a threat to them with education. When dictators rule with iron-grip like for example Saddam or Bashar, educationally the society will go backwards, which prevents us from creating any real threat against anyone...

A msg to Basrawi Iraqi Shia Arab guy on military forum who reads this topic frequently!

Dude stop your stupid plea to westerners to stop arming Peshmerga forces by linking us Sunni majority Kurds to Iran lolwhich one is more obvious? Baghdad to Basrah is now a province of Iran dude, and what is worse? Your Shia led Govt having F16 or Peshmerga with ATGMs? Which one will end up in Tehran? Why do you think US didn't give milki the F16? Your only desperate plea and wish for US not to give us with ATGM and other advanced weapons is that maybe one day you could fight us for Kerkûk or prevent us from dumping your shitraq, dude your desperate plea is so lame and stupid i can't stop laughing haha

One min you say WE Kurds will give Iran US weapons the next you say it will be given to YPG, lolmake up your mind you sound like you are on dope dude..

The only reason US prevents us from dumping shitraq is because when that happens Baghdad to Basrah will "officially" fall under Iran as a province, you think you are so smart uttering these words? It makes you look so stupid dude, grow up.

This is where he utters his desperate lame pleas

All of luck to you, I will be first in line shaking your hand if you succedd.

I mean not however that those countries are having conflicts because of the nukes, I mean DESPITE the nukes. The bombs aren't scaring anyone off because you can not use them anymore since there are no conventional wars anymore.

Do you think we would be getting weapons from 7 different countries if we ever had used nukes? Th eonly country who has ever used nukes in a conflict is the US, 70 years ago. Before that noone had any idea what would happen, now we know.

As it is now we can barely arm our fighters and give them decent wages.

Czech approves $2-million ammunition to South Kurdistan

The Czech government approved supplying ammunition to Kurdish forces in Iraq worth about $2 million, a government spokesman said on Wednesday, to help them fight Islamic State insurgents who have overrun wide areas of KRG.
The spokesman said it was agreed to send ammunition for Kalashnikov assault rifles and machine guns, as well as hand grenades and ammunition for rocket-propelled grenades.

The Czech news agency CTK said the ammunition would be transported to Iraq by U.S. forces.
On Wednesday, U.S. Defence Secretary Chuck Hagel said Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Canada and Albania had committed to providing "arms and equipment" to Kurdistan, a part of KRG whose forces are allied with the central Baghdad government against Islamic State.

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said earlier on Wednesday that Berlin would decide on Sunday on its contribution to forces fighting Islamic State, whose territorial advances threaten to dismember Iraq.

Not to be disrespectful but why do many of them and regular male Peshmerga as well seem to be overweight? An overweight person will not be able to perform some infantry tasks efficiently, I can't understand why there aren't disciplinary measures in place to eliminate obesity among Peshmerga members.

Kurdish forces pound Islamist militants in town northeast of Baghdad

Kurdish peshmerga forces continued to pound Islamic State fighters' positions in Sadiyah, in Diyala province, on Wednesday (August 27) in an attempt to wrest back control of the town which was captured by the Islamist militants more than a week ago.

Backed by U.S. air strikes, the Kurdish fighters were bombarding Sadiyah from the high ground of the Kubashi checkout to the north, while Iraqi government forces attacked the town from the south.

The Kurdish units were launching mortar bombs at their targets in the town, peshmerga video handout showed.

A multi-pronged attack on Sadiyah and nearby Jalawla was launched five days ago, peshmerga sources said.

Both towns are around two hours' drive northeast of the capital Baghdad which has been seen as under threat by the militants' advances.

Islamic State militants captured Jalawla on August 11 after weeks of clashes with Kurdish fighters, extending dramatic gains that have alarmed Iraq's Western allies.

The seizure of Jalawla came a day after a suicide bomber killed 10 Kurdish fighters there. The militants also took control of two nearby villages.

Jalawla is a strategic point, only 30 kilometres from the Iranian border. It has remained one of the deadliest flashpoints along the peshmerga's 1,000-kilometre front with Islamic State.

The militant fighters of Islamic State, a radical al Qaeda offshoot, have seized swathes of both Syria and Iraq in recent months, alarming regional and Western governments, and have vowed to establish a trans-border Sunni Muslim caliphate.
