Hello everyone. I'm an Ezidi Kurd residing in Ukraine, Donetsk to be precise. Since I was raised in an orphanage and then by foster parents for much of my childhood I unfortunately grew up speaking no Kurdish and being completely divorced from my ancestral culture. Nonetheless I have been taking a great interest in my roots in recent years, and I spend a lot of my spare time reading and informing myself about the motherland. I also hope to learn Kurdish eventually(preferably Kurmanji since that will help me communicating with family and fellow Ezidis).

I called myself Şevreşk or 'ghost' because people say they never notice my presence.

Welcome! Do you know which part of kurdistan you are from? Maybe if you name the city we can help. Again welcome I admire your effort to learn about our history and language there are some Kurds here who are completely surrounded by Kurds on a daily basis and they know nothing of our history nor our language.

No, although I know I can rule out Rojhelat and the Dersim region. My ancestors migrated to South Caucasus/Armenia at some point and then settled in Russia and Ukraine. Apparently we circumvented the Stalin deportations of Kurds to Central Asia in some way.
