From the Chairman’s Desk It is since 12 years ago that I am asking myself why some countries have highly developed economy and advanced technological infrastructure and some do not. We all know the South Kurdistan (KR) has the potential to achieve accelerated economic development and growth. Economic development is not possible in the absence of a well-concerted research system as a fundamental infrastructure. One of the modern strategies adopted to eliminate obstacles and impediments to the development of such businesses and institutions has been the initiative of creating science parks and towns. In order to have an IT Research & Development Center to gather the creative young’s on the desk to discuss their ideas, integrate them together and produce new ones and develop them to serve our country we need strong IT companies. We wanted to do something good for Kurdistan by establishing a powerful IT company and returning of Kurds to Kurdistan and create a magnet to attract the best KURDISH minds to work in their field of expertise. Science and Technology Parks (STP) are economic and technological development complexes that aim at fostering knowledge-based economies by bringing together scientific research, business and governmental organizations in one physical location, and supporting interrelationships between these groups. Science and Technology Parks play an important role in transferring scientific and technological knowledge. Information & Communication Technology has been a key driver of productivity growth and economic growth in many countries around the world. ICT is a particularly important technology for Kurdistan. I do believe in establishing STP in order to progress, but we can start from ICT Research and Development Center starting from developing software’s, products and solutions and also do research and development in an ICT company. At next step we can extend the services of the ICT Company and turn it to ICT Research and Development Center. By having first ICT Research and Development Center in Kurdistan we can start with Science and Technology Park and asking other companies, businesses and governmental organizations to join. This is what we are trying to do in Awrosoft ICT Solutions. Awrosoft was established at 2006 and now we are having comprehensive Software Products, Telecom Experience, Network Solutions, IT & consulting Services and in general we have established a robust company to grow. We are paving our way towards greater days and paths of continued excellence by making major investments over the last few years on the development of our product lines for mid & large size industries and enhancing our products for small businesses.
