That's what we like to see, nicely dressed and well equiped soldiers, powerful artillery, trucks, etc. An army ready to fight and attack! KF

Although, they are all gather in the same place, in line, which is deadly if IS shell them... Very dangerous, we tend to see that a lot in pictures or videos. These are prime targets for trained artillery officers or spotters. But on the other hand, IS doesn't have a lot of artillery (mortars and a few field guns but most of them had been destroyed by the coalition airstrikes...), so the threat is not systematic.

Peshemerga ministry needs to make propaganda pictures like that, where we only see well equiped troops: to show to your foes or friends how strong and reliable your army is. Like we discussed before, propaganda is a powerfull tool during war. But, showing poorly equiped Kurdish troops is also useful for the Western medias: it shows you need heavy weapons and equipment.
I have been saying the same. Peshmerga must stop fighting in such compressed groups, that's why we have so many casualites that could have been prevented. They must start divide themselves into smaller groups, into smaller squads, with soldier specialized on different things like Milans or snipers etc with constant communication with each other and move forwards in larger convoys, the Dingos will come in handy for that. It's much eassier for IS to set up traps in the swamps against the IA, the regions Pesh and IS fights in are mostly open flat land. This is an asymmetric war, this isn't iran-iraq trench war. Peshmerga got much more firepower than IS, better start taking advantage of that. But hopefully soon Peshmerga will have recieved their training on different tactics, different weapons and this whole thing will soon be over.
Even if it is just a defensive line in the pic we saw, they are too compressed, as you said they could eassily be targeted by IS mortars.

Kak Alan, I think that photo with that katusha (grad) , that can't be a front line, Like you said, that must be a secured place and 10 km ahead them must be the frontline, a frontline should have tanks, not that rocket launcher
