Since Alan is censoring the information for us non-Sorani readers, can you be more specific about what 'strategic mistakes' the article describes? Kurds have a reputation for being skilled warriors to live up to, incompetence cannot be tolerated. Sorry, but that doesn't sound good at all.

Peshmerga Forces Respond to ISIS Attacks with Heavy Artillery By RUDAW 8 minutes ago KIRKUK, Kurdistan Confederation —For two hours on Friday Kurdish Peshmerga forces south of Kirkuk fired barrages of artillery shells at the bases of Islamic militants in what officials in the area said was a “response to unprovoked shelling” from the insurgents. “Peshmerga forces are stationed near the lower Zab and will continue their defense,” Anwar Haji Osman, Kurdistan Confederation ’s deputy Peshmerga minister told Rudaw. According to Rudaw correspondent in Kirkuk, large numbers of Peshmerga forces are deployed 70 kilometers south of the city. Four Peshmerga fighters were reportedly wounded as a result of shells fired at their bases by the Islamic militants. Though the Kurds haven’t officially joined the war against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), and are in defensive positions, they have come to clashes with the group in Kirkuk and northern Diyala. Haji Osman said that the Peshmerga shelling came in response to motor shell attacks on their bases from the ISIS territories in the Sunni tribal areas further south. “We told the tribal chiefs that if they are not going to expel the insurgents, they should at least not let them shell the Peshmerga forces from among their homes,” said Haji Osman, referring to his communications with the Arab tribes. According to Haji Osman, the ISIS had attacked the 2nd Brigade and 10th infantry brigade of the Peshmerga forces. “They also attacked the villages of Mala Abdulla and Dirma from two fronts,” he said. “And with this, they broke their promise.” Peshmerga officials in the area told Rudaw last week that the ISIS had proposed a truce, asking for reassurance that neither side would attack the other. In the Kurdish towns of Jalawla and Saadia, Peshmerga forces have engaged the ISIS in close-range combat to gain full control of the area. However, Friday’s attacks from the Peshmerga have so far been the heaviest since the start of the ISIS-led war in the Sunni areas of Iraq. Peshmarga Ministry Vows to Hit Back if ISIS Enter Kurdish Territory JALAWLA, Kuridstan region- Kurdistan Peshmarga forces have been battling the Sunni Jihadist militants, known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Sham, ISIS, in the town of Jalawla, 125 kilometers (80 miles) northeast of Baghdad, for the past two weeks since the collapse of the Iraqi army in Mosul, Iraq's second largest city. The Peshmrga forces have control of over 90% of Jalawla and are planning to launch military operations to take over the town completely. There have been sporadic military confrontations and military clashes between the Peshmarga forces and the ISIS insurgents in Sa'dia and Jalawla. Halgurd Hikmat, Spokesperson of Peshmarga Ministry, said that in the coming days the city will be cleaned from the ISIS insurgents. Halgurd added that they have caused the ISIS heavy losses and that they have information revealing there is a huge number of foreigners within the ISIS. The Sunni and Shiite conflict over the past week has lead to military confrontations, air force attacks and mass killing. Observers think that the violence could reach its peak due to sectarianism and tribal clashes. Although the militants easily defeated the Iraqi army in Nineveh and are now planning to move to Baghdad, Peshmergas have been able to protect Kurdish residents in the Kurdistan Confederation and the Kurdish areas outside of the KRG's administration and Peshmarga Ministry vow to retaliate harshly if ISIS cross their limit. The Ministry of Peshmarga announced its full readiness to protect the borders of the Kurdistan Confederation , if the ISIS insurgents dare to trespass into the territories of the Kurdistan Confederation . Peshmerga should react hard on this and not let this happend so easy just like what Iraq did. We should really react hard on this so they know who is the dominant force right now. Just like America does, or any other western country. If 3000 people are getting killed on 9/11 and the 2 highest building destroyed they reacted with killing 100 times as many, steal the rescources and destroy every infrastructure(including pipelines). This will really show them that we are not to mess with. |

f**king dogs! Those sons of some bitches need to pay for this. Peshmerga should bomb one of their convoys or bases with a BM-21 battery. Shehid namrin!  By the way, I think the members that disliked your post disliked the fact that they did behead the Peshmerga, not your cursing against ISIS.
