Zilan Massacre was the facist Turkish government's answer to the Ararat Rebellion. It happend the 13th July 1930 in the valley of Zilan in the Kurdish town of Wan and Erdis. But the killings also happend in the resistance city Agri. Over 15.000 innocent Kurds ( including women and children) were killed in cold blood. The numbers range from 15.000 which is the lowest to the highest estimate which is 55.000. The mission was first called a '' Cleaning up mission'' by ataturk who signed the massacre himself.

Eye witnesses tell of horrific stories with pregnant women getting get up their feturs, elderly men and younger men getting tortured in the open and stories of small children getting raped by facist turkish soldiers.

All over Kurdistan several organisations called for the recignition of the massacre and called on Turkey to officially apoligize for the massacre. The BDP bureau in Van condemned the act aswell.

This was no small massacre. It was big and extremely vile and disgusting.

To read the survivors own words and soldiers who committed this massacre (they were at gun point by the higher ranks in the military), see this through:
