Kurdish history has been hidden away and destroyed. For example, the only sources we have that Saladin himself said he was Kurdish are from the libraries in Alexandria. Hidden away thousands of kilometres from where the Eyyubis came from. The Kurds themselves, however, have also been guilty. The Kurdish tribe leaders and upper class were quick to inhabit the ruling hegemonies and their traditions and language. We can actually thank the peasants and the workers for keeping alive the old traditions and our language and culture.
