Tribes of Kurds in Central Anatolia:

Quote:

Şiğbizin, Rüşvan, Cambeg, Nasiran, Nasilran

I only know these so far. I'm currently reading a book about Kurds in Central Anatolia. When I find more about other tribes, I will edit my post. Even though, I know you all don't care about these tribes, but I thought I'd post it, since there's so many Kurds from Central Anatolia on the internet. I already met like 5 just randomly.

No. They're Kurmanji Kurds except the Şiğbizin tribe.

The Şiğbizin tribe speaks a completely different dialect. A dialect of their own, since they have roots in around Bazan, near Slemani. Actually, what is more interesting with this tribe is, that it has been said that it is a branch of the Laki language (for me, it sounds and the writing looks similar to Sorani, but you can see the difference in the writing).

Rüşvan are from North Kurdistan. It has been said that they were Alevis in the past. Seems like Cambeg & Nasilran was a branch of the Rüşvan tribe.

Nasiran are originally said to be from Efrin in West Kurdistan. I'm from this tribe.

As we Kurds from Central Anatolia say, “Me xwe ji bîr nekir”.

I wish to learn Kurmanji, very good dialect.
Is your tribe big or small?

Yes, Kurmanji is good. However, our dialect Judikani (a name for Anatolian Kurds' dialect, invented by Mehrdad Izady) has been turkified, but still after all these years, we have preserved our language and culture. I will be learning the "real" Kurmanji soon.

I'd say it is relatively small, especially compared to other Kurdish tribes.

The village Im from and the surrounding villages are either Janbegi or Reshvan. I am Janbegi myself. We migrated, as far as I know, from southern part of North Kurdistan. Possibly Elbistan in Gurgum ( K Maras) or somewhere in Riha

I guess my tribe is Ali Sherwan since most Baghdadi kurds is from that tribe. We are originally from Eastern Kurdistan though (probably Ilam or Kirmanshah).

Yes I'm Ali-Shirwn aswell, that is the Fayli/Pahli confederacy, I don't know why Izady catergorized Arkawazi as seperate, since they are also Faylis living in Mandali and Ilam.
Ali Shirwanis live Ilam city, all the way north to Shirvan, and all the way south to Darreh Shahr, aswell as other fayli tribes living in other towns and cities in Ilam.

No it is just one tribe, but some of the Shirwanis after WW1 went to Baghdad in search of work, because when the British set the borders down and backed up the Iranian government that forced the Kurdish tribes to settle down or abandon the nomadic lifestyle. Either indirectly, because sometimes Nomads went from SK to EK or vice versa.
