Kurus? Sounds too much like "Kurush" (Cyrus II, the enemy of the Median empire) |

What is SKG? Kurus is a turkish word... we should use the Kurdish word which is ' Qemerî' |

It doesn't appeal to the average Kurd though. It's like putting a writer instead of George Washington.

i think its vulgare to put a leader on coins. it reminds me of those ataturk coins/bills/whatever in turkey. it sickens me no matter which leader. i think the people should be represented at the coins and stamps.

The Swedish currency has writers and scientists on the bills and the Euro has monuments and cities. Not everyone must follow the footsteps of the US Dollar. |

Or just a mix of leaders. Remember there are 2 sides. One side a person (leader, writer, historian, etc.) other side a location or something, like Hewler Citadel. And someone should have mentioned this guy; ![]() Sheref Khani Bidlisi, he was a prince of the Bitlis principality, but also the most important Kurdish writer on Kurdish history. He wrote Sherafnama, it was the first book written by a Kurd on Kurdish history, culture, etc. published in 1597. I'm planning on buying a translated (English) copy :). |

I would love to have these squared coins! They are a unique design. Who says coins have to be round! |

No doubt they've been used before, but they're definitely still rare compared to the average round coin. I personally would love to have these special designs, though that may only be me. |

Great and honourable man too. Not only a fighter but also a writer. I was about to include him to my list too. But you know, the list is long. Many Kurdish artists, patriots, writers should be on those coins. They have all helped preserve our culture and language. |

Different mountains on the bills. Agrin in one, Halgurd in another, with a 21 point sun |
