Sulaimani Heights

is Qaiwan Group’s newest and the most ambitious projects till date. With outstanding projects under the belt like Qaiwan City, Sulaimani Mall and upcoming projects such as Qaiwan Towers, it only makes sense the next step is a project of this stature.

Sulaimani Heights will be sprawled across 1,089 apartment units and 911 villas of various sizes that are all spread across a jaw-dropping 1,250,000 square meters. It is destined to become the city’s most prestigious and desirable commercial and residential development.

The residential section will include the best, most modern amenities and recreational facilities like swimming pools, football fields, play areas, gyms and parks. Residents will be able to find everything at their doorstep with a mall and supermarket in the vicinity. There is also a beautifully serene mosque at the location and a hyper-modern nursery and school are both located within the development.

Sulaimani Heights will also house a 6-storey high office building, allowing both local and international businesses to flourish within its boundaries. This office space will prove to be an architectural icon of contemporary design, with the trademark Qaiwan standards of quality in every aspect.

Located in the north of the city, Sulaimani Heights is an oasis surrounded by lush emerald green plantation. It will have a magnificent view of the city centre as well as of the astonishing Azmar Mountain. Sulaimani Heights is well connected in terms of transportation to the city centre and driving downtown is a breeze and an added bonus for those who will make this space a home.

With its extremely convenient location and ultra-modern design, this distinguished development is an amazing opportunity and a sound investment for both perceptive investors and prospective homebuyers.

Disagreements Halt Erbil’s Floria City Project

Posted Image

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) says it has abolished the permit for the giant Floria City Project in Erbil because the contractor has violated several agreements, accusations denied by the contractor.

"The owner of the project has violated the signed plan of the project and the permit was abolished for this reason,” said Herish Muharram, chairman of the Kurdistan Board of Investment (KBOI).

The Floria City project was originally a big residential project designed for low income citizens of the Kurdistan Region, planned to be built by the Turkish company Cevikler. But after the company abandoned the project in the middle of the process the contract was given to the Rad Construction Company, which began building large, expensive villas and apartments instead of inexpensive housing.

According to the existing agreement with the KBOI, only 5,000 housing units should have been built on the project site. But, without referring to the KBOI, the company decided to expand and build more than 8,000 housing units.

Muhammad Nawrozi, owner of the Floria City Project, challenged KBOI to prove that the company had violated the plan. "I challenge the KBOI to prove that they have given us certain plans or designs to abide by. I will accept all the legal proofs. Let them prove that they have actually given us any approved plans or designs," he said.

A senior official from the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism said, "The project has been stopped. There will be no change in that decision by the government."

He added, "The Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism had officially warned the owner of the project that they should have had bought the land of the project from the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism at the normal market prices."

He added that police have been given instructions "not to allow work on that project site until the case is settled."

But, Nawrozi vowed to continue the project. "We have not stopped the Floria City project and we are continuously working with our full force on that site. We will not allow this project to be stopped in any form or shape," he said.
