Meet the YPG & Peshmerga's International Brigade: By John Hall for MailOnline Published: 17:07 GMT, 21 April 2015 | Updated: 18:21 GMT, 21 April 2015 Meet the Peshmerga's International Brigade: From IT workers to ex-soldiers, the men from the West teaming up with Kurdish forces to fight Daash Dozens of Western fighters have bravely taken up arms in the battle to defeat the Daash in Syria and Iraq Many of the volunteers are former servicemen who previously fought for the United States and British Armies Others have little or no military experience but want to help Kurdish resistance forces fighting the terror group Majority of the Western fighters have joined the Kurdish People's Protection Unit in Syria or Peshmerga in Iraq A legion of foreign fighters who bravely joined the Kurdish forces battling militants loyal to the Daash have posed for photographs in Syria. Showing off their tattoos, play fighting with one another and relaxing in a camp, the international fighting force appear incredibly relaxed - despite fighting on the frontline against the terror group. Dozens of fighters - many of them ex-soldiers in the British and America armies - have volunteered to join Kurdish troops battling Daash in Iraq and Syria in recent months. As many of the Kurdish fighters do not speak English, the foreign soldiers usually form new English-language regiments. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3049019/Peshmerga-s-foreign-legion-fighting-alongside-defeat-ISIS-workers-ex-soldiers-brave-men-world-teaming-Kurdish-forces.html |

All the foreigners on these pictures fight in the ranks of YPG. The YPG accepts all foreigners who wants to join them and I think YPG have now over 100 foreign fighters. But the Peshmerga have more restrictions. The Peshmerga ministry and the unit 80 (PDK) don't recruit any foreigners, only unit 70 (YNK) under Sheikh Jafar recruits foreigners. The Peshmerga have now I think 20 - 30 foreign fighters. Respect to all of them ![]() ![]() |
