In another question on the allegations about promises to arm the different ethnicities by the US and settling them in their own areas in future, the Ltd. Gen. Furthermore, most of the Kurdish areas outside of Mosul are under Peshmerga forces’ control such as Shangal[SInjar], Zumar, and also the areas near Bashik , Dibaga, Gwer, the areas by Khadhr. The Secretary General the lieutenant General Jabar Yawar also referred to the primary preparation of the process and said “What has been done by the Iraqi Government so far is the opening of the command headquarter of the forces of liberating Mosul and a cooperating center between the Iraqi Central Government with the US-led coalition allies and the Kurdistan Region. Additionally, the process of transferring the regiment 15 of the Iraqi army to Makhmour has been started during this span, this process will continue, it has not yet ended up in preparation and transferring those forces to those areas.” The Ltd. Gen. Jabar Yawar also revealed in the interview “one of the reasons why Iraqi Government is not ready is the unavailability of a pedestrian route, which this must be opened for those civilians who have stayed in south of Mosul to be able to get out of Mosul, in particular the areas of Heet, Fallujah, Ryadh, Hawija, Shargat Gayara and some other areas that is why the Iraqi Government is not ready for that process.” The Ltd. Gen. Jabar Yawar Manda also stated regarding the forces that are supposed to take part in the process of liberating Mosul “No planes have been derived on how to be participated in the liberation of Mosul”, he presumes that the sides consist of the Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi military forces and the US-led coalition warplanes. http://witebej.com/En/News.aspx?id=12368&MapID=35#.VuPB6Zx97mg |
