His Excellency the Minister of Peshmerga meets with the Director of the Office of Security Coordination for the U.S. Army in Iraq witebej - received His Excellency the Minister of Peshmerga Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, yesterday, and the presence of Anwar Haji Othman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Peshmerga and the Lieutenant General Jabbar Yawar, the Secretary General of the Ministry and Lieutenant General Jamal Mohammed, chief of staff of the ministry, Gen. Kaslen responsible for security coordination office for the U.S. Army in Iraq and his delegation, which included all of the U.S. Consul General in Erbil and a number of senior adviser to the U.S. Consulate and security coordination office for the U.S. Army. During the meeting, they discussed the situation in the district of Tuz Khurmatu and Kirkuk province, was shed the Minister of Peshmerga, light on events in the region, and declared that " the moving of Peshmerga forces to the region was the result of threats by Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and leaders of the Iraqi army to bring out the headquarters of Kurdistan parties in Tuz Khurmatu, disarming the Peshmerga". And explained the Minister of Peshmerga Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa "that after receiving pledges to solve the problem through dialogue and discussions, it was withdrawing a large part of the forces that have been brought to the region." Also noted that "the Iraqi army troops were moving in the Hamrin area, on the main road" Azim- Tuz Khurmatu" till time holds this meeting, called for the withdrawal of these forces, in order to avoid military clashes, and destabilize of the security situation in the region." other hand called Gen. Kaslen, that to stay away from military solutions, and at the same time trying to solve problems through dialogue, stressing his country's readiness to support dialogue and negotiations between the parties. He also pledged to Gen. Kaslen in the meeting, that discuss with the Iraqi officials to cut the road in front of the complexity of the situation in the region, expressing their support to any party believes in dialogue a way to solve problems. Russian Girenak Joseph, who visited Kirkuk in Kurdistan as a part of his tour throu the 1870 - 1873 AD, who published the results of his trip & his studies later in 1879, in the 4th volume in the Bulletin of the Caucasus department of the Royal Geographical Russian Society estimated Kirkuk's population as many as 12-50,000 people, & he emphasized that except 40 Christian families, the rest of the population were Kurds.
