Genocide against Yezidi
International arrest warrant against high-ranking Daesh-commander

In 2014 Daesh-terrorists kidnapped thousands of yezidi women and girls in the Sinjar mountains. The Federal Criminal Police Office can now identify a high-ranking perpetrator by name and the hunt for the man has already begun.

The Federal Prosecution Office has, according to a report, issued the first international arrest warrant against a terrorist of the terror-militia 'islamic state' (IS) for war crimes and genocide. The Federal Criminal Police Office has succeeded in identifiying a high-ranking Daesh commander who is said to be decivily responsible for enslavement of thousands of yezidi women and girls in the KRG, through questionings of several victims. This is reported by the newspaper 'Welt am Sonntag'.

According to this, the arrest warrant was already issued in last December. Daesh had kidnapped and enslaved thousands of yezidi women and girls in the Sinjar mountains in 2014. A UN fact-finding committee evaluatied the attacks of the terrorists on the yezidi minority as genocide as Daesh had intended to systematically annihilate the religious group.

In the past year, more than 29 000 yezidis from the KRG were recognized as refugees in Germany. According to statements of the Central Council for the Êzîdi in Germany, around 50 000 yezidis have come from the KRG and Syria to Germany since August 2014.

The around 200 000 yezidis living in Germany had founded a new central lobby with the name Zentralrat der Êzîden in Deutschland (ZÊD) (Central Council for the Êzîdi in Germany) in late January. The yezidi form religious minorities in a number of nations in the near-east region. Ethnically, they mainly consider themselves kurds.
