KIRKUK | Plaza mall & hotel

Dr Najmiddin Karim Kirkuk Governor along with Rebwar Talabani chairmen of city council opened the investment project Plaza mall located in the middle of Kirkuk on Sunday 12/6/2016.

The mayor of kirkuk also attended the opening ceremony, which will give a nice look to the center of the city.

Speaking to number of media outlets the Governor assured sovereignty of Kirkuk and declared that Kirkuk is safe and stable. "This is another proof of the success of Kirkuk and citizens to face challenges and determination to live and make sure their city". He added.

The Governor at the same time praised the role of Peshmerga and security forces and their sacrifices they provide and announced it will help the continuation for more construction in the city.

The mayor of kirkuk thanked the investor for the project calling to continue with the project and more hotels to provide services to the people of Kirkuk.

Chief investment chairman in Kirkuk Felah Bezaz announced that the project is one of the investment projects and the building is located near the city centre, he explained that the project is composed of 14 floors, seven of which includes a hotel, too big mall shops, stores, restaurants, a pool, a massage place, as well as a sports games. Cost of the project is $9 million.

Russian Girenak Joseph, who visited Kirkuk in Kurdistan as a part of his tour throu the 1870 - 1873 AD, who published the results of his trip & his studies later in 1879, in the 4th volume in the Bulletin of the Caucasus department of the Royal Geographical Russian Society estimated Kirkuk's population as many as 12-50,000 people, & he emphasized that except 40 Christian families, the rest of the population were Kurds. As for The Turkmen & Arabs, they have not been already existed at the time.
